DreamWorks Water Park

Every kid dreams of a summer vacation filled with sun, games with friends, and family trips, and no summer family trip is truly complete without a waterpark. There are plenty of options, but for those who enjoy animated movies, few offerings are as enticing as DreamWorks Indoor Waterpark.

As you’d probably have guessed from the name alone every attraction is themed after one of DreamWorks beloved movies like Shrek or Kung Fu Panda. Mascots run around greeting children and dancing in the dry areas while both children and adults enjoy themed rides. Those who hesitate to step onto waterslides still have plenty of options open to them.

For example, children can run around, make friends and get soaked by the largest indoor tipping bucket in the Kung Fu Panda Temple of Awesomeness while their parents sit back and watch from the Forbidden Waters hot tub. And, of course, the ultimate relaxation experience comes from lounging in the lazy river.

Whether a splashing good time entices you or you just need a break from the dinginess of everyday life, you’ll appreciate the offerings at DreamWorks Water Park.

Grounds for Sculpture

In Hamilton, New Jersey sits 42 acres of land. There are a total of 4 different indoor galleries whose art changes every now and then because they want to showcase as many artists as possible. That means that there will likely be something new to see every time you visit Grounds for Sculpture.

You’ll find more than just sculpted beauty here, though. You may get lucky and see the local flock of peacocks on your way to enjoy the natural beauty provided by the gardens. You can brave the dense bamboo grove to find the bamboo observation tower or visit Rat’s Pond on your way to enjoy a meal at the nearby Rat’s Restaurant.

The shade-covered bridge may call to you as you gaze at it from the restaurant, beckoning you to take a cool, contemplative walk through the trees. The gardens are even a good visit during the winter, thanks to the Warming Hut. Whether you enjoy the beauty of art, the gorgeous creations of nature, or both, you’ll enjoy a visit to Grounds for Sculpture.

Lakota Wolf Preserve

Not many places can instill a childlike wonder in everyone, adults included, quite like a zoo or nature preserve can. For those who prefer to see the often villainized predatory animals while reclaiming this innocent curiosity and desire for exploration, a visit to Lakota Wolf Preserve is a must.

Each tour showcases the various animals rescued by the preserve and informs each visitor not only of the importance of each animal but also of the unique risks faced by each species and the efforts made by conservationists to save them from extinction.

Despite the name, more than just wolves are housed here. The majestic lynx and adorable foxes are here alongside the obvious wolves and the often overlooked yet beautiful bobcat.

The owners are passionate about their work and will regale you with the preserve’s history as well as many animal facts. Very few things are as entertaining as fox gekkering or as endearing as wolves playing and you’ll get to experience both and more as you take your guided tour of Lakota Wolf Preserve.

Paranormal Museum

Perhaps your interests lie outside the conventional. There’s nothing wrong with a fun waterpark and who doesn’t love art and nature, but you’d prefer to spend your time researching cryptids and exploring hauntings. If this is you then you absolutely have to book your tour of the Paranormal Museum.

This tour isn’t for the faint of heart. While the Famous Hunts of the USA leg of the tour may very well be the most tame section it still demands your attention and may bring fear to the unprepared.

Those with strong wills and either the courage of an ancient Greek hero or enough curiosity to frighten an entire colony of cats will move on to the Haunted Object and Haunted Doll sections of the tour to be delighted and intrigued by the artifacts on display.

The bravest may even be allowed to handle a doll themselves. Cryptids and their artifacts also get their own section to entice tour takers to consider whether or not each is real, from the Loch Ness Monster to a local haunt, the Jersey Devil itself.

Whether you’re a skeptic looking to bolster your own beliefs or are an enthusiast of all that is spooky and creepy, a visit to the Paranormal Museum will never disappoint.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk

New Jersey is an overlooked state but even those who do decide to take a trip may have missed one of the state’s most enticing features: its beaches. Those few who do remember the beaches will want to take a trip to Point Pleasant Beach and enjoy an entire boardwalk for fun known as Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.

Gamers will find themselves immersed in at least 1 of the 4 arcades; those looking for exercise or a unique bout of fun may appreciate the Adventure Lookout Ropes Course, and, of course, you can’t go wrong with the amusement park. Should the sun be too hot, the noise be overwhelming or you simply need a break from the beach, then stop by the beloved aquarium.

You’ll see penguins, seals, sharks, rays or even the not-so-aquatic sloth Wally if you’re lucky. It doesn’t matter if you’re mostly there for the beach or are excited to indulge too many sweets; you’ll have an amazing time on Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.
